Mixed Bunch

I haven't had the chance to make a card with the Mixed Bunch stamp set I received at Leadership.  It looks much better in real life. The Calypso Coral does match the DSP, it just doesn't look like it in the picture. This card is 3" x 6".
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Mixed Bunch (Occasions mini), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB)
Ink - Calypso Coral
Accessories - Blossom punch (Occasions mini), Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Modern Label and 1/2" circle punches, Very Vanilla 1/8" taffeta ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Neutrals brad collection, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' sponge

SSC 240 Just Believe

Stamping 411 had a challenge that really caught my eye.  I thought the stamp set Just Believe would be perfect for the sketch, using the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (free during sale-a-bration). Have I mentioned how much I love the Everyday Enchantment DSP? It is sooo beautiful!

I know it's a little boring, because I followed the sketch exactly, but I just couldn't help myself.

Supplies:
Stamp set - Just Believe
Cardstock - Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla, Everday Enchantment DSP
Ink - Lucky Limeade, Versamark
Accessories - Clear embossing powder, Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brads pack (SAB), Very Vanilla 3/8" taffeta ribbon

I heat embossed the flowers by inking the stamp in Lucky Limeade classic ink, then inking it in the Versamark pad.  Heat emboss using clear embossing powder.

Dry Embossing with Framelits Heart Collection

Did you know that you could dry emboss with the new Framelits?  Instead of using the Framelit to cut the heart out, you can turn the heart over and place the cutting side up and you will dry emboss a heart on your cardstock. Just stamp your image on your cardstock, place your heart around your stamping, and you will have a raised heart! I will give you the directions for using this technique with your Big Shot.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Sprinkled Expressions (SAB)
Cardstock - Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red
Ink - Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette and Rose Red markers
Accessories - Framelits Hearts Collection, Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, Pink Pirouette 3/8" tafetta ribbon, Trinket Hearts, White Baker's twine

Can you see the embossed heart?  One set of directions I saw used 2 Texturz silicone rubber mats, but I only have 1, so I folded 3 pieces of cardstock (8 1/2 x 11) in half and stacked them on top of one another in place of one of the silicone mats.  Here's the sandwich I used:

Multipurpose platform Tab 2
3 stacked, folded pieces of cardstock
1 Texturz silicone rubber mat
cardstock to be embossed
Framelit w/ cutting side up
cutting plate

After running it through the Big Shot, you may have a shodow around your heart (another impression) or you may not.

Here is another option:

Multipurpose platform with no tab open
Texturz Impression pad
Texturz Silicone rubber pad
cardstock to be embossed
Framelit w cutting side up
cutting plate

After running it through the Big Shot, you will definitely have a shadow (another impression) around the heart.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Apothecary Art

I just love the Apothecary Art stamp set. I saw Wisteria Wonder used with Concord Crush and it looked way better than I thought it would.  I think embossing the Concord Crush helps soften it. I used the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen to color in the flowers on the Wisteria Wonder cardstock. It has a very soft look.
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Apothecary Art
Cardstock - Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush, Whisper White
Ink - Concord Crush
Accessories - Label Collection Framelits, Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder ,uni-ball Signo Gel Pen,  Basic Pearls, Wisteria Wonder 3/8" ruffled ribbon, 5/8" organza ribbon, stampin' sponge, stampin' dimensionals

The ruffled ribbon is placed over the organza ribbon. It make the organza ribbon appear "silver" instead of white.

Vintage Valentine

There were so many sample cards at leadership, it was hard to take them all in.  Demonstrators clipped their cards on clotheslines with clothespins and they circled the perimeter of the room.  I saw a vintage valentine similar to the one I made and I tweaked it a little, using the supplies I had. I love it, but I think it's one of those cards that you either love or hate.
Supplies:
Stamp sets - P.S. Love You, Take it to Heart
Cardstock - Real Red, Basic Black, First Edition Specialty, Very Vanilla
Ink - Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Real Red
Accessories - Framelits Dies Hearts Collection, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Chantilly 1/2" Crochet Trim, Brights Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Sponge daubers, Stampin' Dimensionals

I crumpled the First Edition paper into a ball and tore it a little. Then I took the crumb cake ink pad and applied it directly to the paper to give it a weathered look. From there, it's just ad lib!! Have some fun and try it with whatever stamps you have.

Fresh Vintage Postage Stamp

I made another card with the Sale-a-Bration stamp set Fresh Vintage.  The small square stamp resembles a postage stamp so I used the Postage Stamp Punch. The Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is also an item that you can get FREE during SAB.

I liked that card so well that I made another using the P.S. I Love You stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. It could be used for a Valentine or some other reason.

Fresh Vintage

Fresh Vintage is a stamp set that you can earn free if you place a $50.00 order from now until March 31, 2012.  Stampin' Up! showcased this card at Leadership and I tweaked it slightly, but it is cased from the beautiful designers at Stampin' Up! I took the same design and tried it in two different colors. Which do you like best?
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Fresh Vintage (SAB) and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock for the top card - Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Basic Black
Cardstock for the bottom card - Very Vanilla, Poppy Parade, Early Espresso
Ink for the top card - Soft Suede, Basic Black, Soft Suede marker
Ink for the bottom card - Poppy Parade, Early Espresso, Poppy Parade marker
Accessories - 5/8" Black Satin ribbon, or 3/8" Early Espresso Taffeta ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, 2 1/2" circle punch, stampin' sponges

I used a marker and just free handed the dots around the edge of the circle.  Then I sponged the edges.

I'm Back from Leadership

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in a while, but I just returned from Stampin' Up's Leadership Conference in San Antonio, TX. What a wonderful and meaningful event. I'm so glad I was able to attend. It was my first Leadership but hopefully not my last.  I received lots of good ideas and information, as well as a lot of freebies! Stampin' Up! is so generous with their demonstrators when they attend their events! If you love stamping, like I do, you should consider joining Stampin' Up! by becoming a demonstrator with me. We could have so much fun!!

One of the highlights of the conference was getting to meet Shelli Gardner, cofounder and CEO of Stampin' Up! I got to have my picture taken with her.  That's a really big deal at these events, so I was very pleased!
After the conference, I had the chance to visit with my cousin, who lives in San Antonio.  The week was great and I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to spend some time in a much warmer place than Ohio, doing what I enjoy doing!! I'll make a card tomorrow and get on with sharing my ideas with you!

Bordering on Romance

The new Bordering on Romance stamp set from the Occasions Mini is such a pretty set. It is a wonderful set to do watercoloring on. I actually watercolored on Whisper White this time, using black Stazon ink and the top of my ink pads with a watercolor brush. You can watercolor on Whisper White or Very Vanilla if you don't get too much water on the paper.
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Bordering on Romance
Cardstock - Rose Red, Whisper White
Ink - Black Stazon, Rose Red (Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, and Pear Pizzazz for watercoloring)
Accessories - Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies, Labels Collection Framelits Dies, Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Rose Red Seam Binding, Stampin' Dimensionals

Since I just created this card last night and it fits the new challenge on Stamping 411, I decided to enter it in the Saturday challenge.  Here is the new challenge.

Not Really a Valentine

I know this card has a lot of hearts, but it's not pink or red and the greeting could be used as a Valentine's Day card, but I'm planning on using it as a card to be sent with a heartfelt message, "from my heart to yours". I love all the Framelits, and Edgelits, and embossing folders from the Occasions Mini.  Be sure and check out all the fabulous items in that catalog. The watercolored flower on the heart is from the Bordering on Romance stamp set, also from the Occasions Mini.

I've been away from my blog for too long, but we have been so busy and I've had a pretty rough cough, so somethings gotta give! I participated in the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge this week.
I used an embossed image from Take It to Heart and turned it kind of nostalgic with the Remember When stamp from Word Play.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Take It to Heart, Word Play

Ink - Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White Craft
Accessories - White embossing powder, heat gun, Adorning Accents textured impressions embossing folder, 1 1/4" square punch
