We were given a free sample of the Paper Pumpkin at convention and I made my kit yesterday. It is a mini scrapbook or brag book. I took a few photos of my book.

Everything I needed was provided in the kit (except for adhesive). It even had a couple of stamps and a Stampin' Spot (ink).  And I didn't use everything provided in the kit so I have some extras for another project.  If this sounds like fun and/or something you are interested in, go to www.mypaperpumpkin.com  and be sure to list me - Diane Caron - as your demonstrator.

Another Alphabet Press Embossed Project

I went to a pre-convention Make & Take session at the Marriott and I don't even know to whom the credit should go for this card, as I was invited by a friend. I remade one of the cards with just a few changes today. It uses the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder but I didn't use Core-dinations cardstock this time. On the piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I randomly stamped in Crumb Cake ink the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge. After stamping,I ran it through the Big Shot with the Alphabet Press embossing folder. Then I inked around the edges to give it the distressed look.  I tore the top right corner before inking.  Then I did a lot of layering to finish the card.  It's fun to experiment!

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Hello Lovely, Gorgeous Grunge
Cardstock - Island Indigo, Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Summer Starfruit, Soho Subway Designer Series Paper
Ink - Crumb Cake, Island Indigo
Accessories - Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing folder, Big Shot, Decorative Label punch, Ticket Duo Builder punch, 7/16" Natural trim, mini brads, Stampin' sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Papillon Potpourri, A Little Birthday Cheer (retired)
Cardstock - Strawberry Slush, Whisper White

Not a pink person? Try it with soft sky, or any color you'd like.

Stippled Blossoms Sympathy

Well, I'm back to my old faithful set, Stippled Blossoms.  And I love pink and green, so I used Primrose Petals and Pear Pizzazz.  That's a lot of P's!! The narrow embossing folder, Delicate Designs, made a nice border on the left. It's a very simple card, but it's just beautiful!

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Stippled Blossoms, Love and Sympathy
Cardstock - Primrose Petals, Whisper White
Ink - Primrose Petals, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories - Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Primrose Petals stitched satin ribbon

Don't need a sympathy card right now?  Change the sentiment and you've got a beautiful card for any occasion.

Fabulous Shoes

I've got my card all ready for my ladies at the nursing home. I've been away for two weeks, and according to Lori, they've been checking all week to make sure I've returned! I'll be glad to see them too, they are such sweeties.

This card is a CASE from Kay Powell, a demonstrator I swapped cards with at Convention.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Fabulous You
Cardstock - Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Polka Dots DSP
Ink - Versa Mark, Daffodil Delight marker
Accessories - Apothecary Accents Framelits, Black Embossing Powder, Heat tool, Daffodil Delight seam binding, Stampin' Sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dot

I changed it up a little for my Stamp Club. It's got a dressier feel, don't you think? The shoes didn't photograph well on this card, it was too much Very Vanilla, I guess, but the shoe is just as black as the yellow card. The embossing makes it look like patent leather.

The supplies are the same as above, but I used the Modern Medly DSP with Basic Black and Very Vanilla. The rose is colored with Melon Mambo, but you could use any color. I put Basic Rhinestones wherever there was a center to a flower.  They both sure were fun to make!

Bootiful Bouquet

There are lots of display boards at convention that have tons of projects displayed and I took pictures of the ones I liked and of the ones I had stamp sets for.  This is a card I made after looking through my photos.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Bootiful Occasions, Secret Garden, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock - Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Ink - Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point (pad and marker), Old Olive, Basic Black
Accessories - Secret Garden Framelits, Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (:( it didn't make the new catalog) Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Small and Large Oval punch, Basic Pearls

I colored the pearls with my Pacific Point marker. I heat set it a little so help it stay. I'm not sure it won't rub off, but I'm not touching it anymore, so we'll see!!  My cousin had knee replacement surgery on Monday, so she's going to get this card!

Alphabet Press Embossing Folder

I won this cool embossing folder from the Prize Patrol at Convention! There were some other new  products in the bundle as well that I'll use later. I used Early Espresso Core'dinations cardstock and sanded the front of the letters. The embossing folder coordinates with the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper too. (It's one of the DSP that's on sale until July 31. Buy 3, Get One Free.)

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Sassy Salutations, Yippee-Skippee (inside)
Cardstock - Crumb Cake, Early Espresso Core'dinations
Ink - Soft Suede
Accessories - Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Sanding Block, Decorative Label Punch, Crumb Cake 3/8" Taffeta ribbon, Stampin' sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals

I did a lot of sponging on the Crumb Cake cardstock to make it blend with the Early Espresso. I used Soft Suede ink, but Crumb Cake would work too.

This is the inside of the card! It's from the stamp set Yippee-Skippee (it was a freebie at Convention too!)
Carbs, schmarbs! Eat the cake!   Don't you just love that!!??

Gorgeous Grunge - a Convention Make & Take

Hey!! I'm back from my travels!! I had a wonderful vacation with my daughter and granddaughters in Georgia. We went to Tybee Island, Savannah, and Atlanta.  We had a ball (except for the jellyfish sting Bryn got, not once but twice!) I was exhausted by the time I got home and I left 3 days later to go to Salt Lake City for my Stampin' Up! Convention. It was a big celebration for their 25th anniversary and by the time I got home, I was exhausted again!! I need to stay home for a while and rest up!

The card I made today was a Make & Take from convention, but I didn't make it there, so it was a Take & Make.  I changed it just a little, mostly because I don't have a Crisp Cantaloupe marker yet, and I wanted it mounted on Coastal Cabana. I think it makes the card a lot classier.

Here's the directions and sample.

And here's my card.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Hello Lovely, Gorgeous Grunge, Petite Pairs
Card stock - Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer paper
Ink - Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Summer Starfruit, Old Olive
Accessories - 1 3/4" circle punch, Epic Day This and That Washi Tape, Button, White Baker's twine (run through the Coastal Cabana ink pad, holding it down with a sponge dauber)
