Field Flowers

No post yesterday because I spent the day with my daughter. She had out patient surgery on her ankle. She has a stress fracture and had to have 2 screws put in it since it hasn't healed wearing a boot for 5 weeks. But I have a card for  you today. I saw this cool design on the board at convention but the card had a lot of sewing on it. So instead of sewing, I did some distressing and I liked the look of it.  I used my color spritzer tool with a Crumb Cake and a Riding Hood Red marker on the Very Vanilla cardstock.  I used the rectangle Designer Frames Folder and cut around it. I didn't cut the center out, I just cut a piece of Very Vanilla to fit inside and glued it. The River Rock that I used on the leaves didn't really show up very well so if you want more color, try a different green. I like the neutral shades for this card.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Field Flowers, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock - Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla
Ink - Crumb Cake, River Rock, Riding Hood Red, Crumb Cake and Riding Hood Red markers
Accessories - Designer Frames Embosing Folders, Color Spritzer Tool, 3/8" Crumb Cake tafetta ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, distressing tool

To all my fabulous friends!

I played with the stamp set, Fabulous You, today and came up with a couple of cards.  I immediately fell in love with the set when I saw it in  the catalog but had a hard time figuring out how to design a card with it.  I used a couple of examples I saw at convention, (with other sets, actually) and they gave me a good springboard to create these. I embossed both of the heels, though it doesn't show up on the photo. I even embossed the flowers I punched by embossing a small piece of cardstock with clear embossing powder and then punching the flower out. It makes it look like patent leather.  I'm really pleased with the result and love the verse on the inside!

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Fabulous You, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock - Basic Black, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Mocha Morning DSP (retired)
Ink - Versa Mark, Staz On Black
Accessories - Black embossing powder, clear embossing powder, heat gun, basic rhinestones, Elegant Lines Textured Impressions embossing folder, Scallop Trim Border punch, Word window and Modern Label punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack

I'm home from convention!

Well, I sure didn't do very well posting from convention, did I?  When I posted the one on Thursday, I had the best internet connection I've ever had in a public place. Well, the next two nights I couldn't get it to do anything!! So I just couldn't get any more information out there.  But I had a wonderful trip. It was 4 days packed with fun and information. I learned so much and feel energized about my business.  Stampin' Up! is truly a wonderful company. If you ever think about becoming a demonstrator, you sure wouldn't regret it!! Be sure and let me know if you are inclined at all!!

One of the special things you get to do at convention is march across the stage for certain milestones. I got to march twice this year. One for being a demonstrator for 10 years and also for reaching the sales point of $100,000.00. My friends were in charge of taking my picture while I went on stage, but they didn't get a picture of my 10 year walk at all. The sales march is taken off the jumbo tron so it's not a real good picture, but I wanted to share.

I took pictures of lots of samples and traded lots of swaps so I've got a ton of new ideas.  I placed an order from the mini catalog yesterday (demonstrators are allowed to preorder). I can't wait to try out the new Christmas and Halloween stuff!!
Today's card is a CASE of a card I received as a swap from Sarah Mannello (Danbury, CT).

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Papillon Potpourri, Petite Pairs
Cardstock - Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Floral District DSP
Ink - Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals
Accessories - Scallop trim border punch, Large and Scallop oval punches, Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder,  Simply Scored Scoring Tool, 3/8" Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin ribbon, blender pen, Stampin' Dimensionals

I colored the butterflies with a blender pen and ink pressed into the lid of my ink pads of Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit. I added a little water to the Primrose lid to make it a shade lighter.

Greetings from Salt Lake City

I'm in Salt Lake City and convention is in full swing! It officially started today though I had a full day yesterday as well. The excitement of over 3000 Stampin' Up! demonstrators all together stamping and "talking stamping" is sure wild!

This year's theme is "I am". Shelli challenged us to come up with a one word response to complete this phrase. That's not easy.  I have it narrowed down to a couple. Then we are to complete "I want to be" by the end of convention.

How's this for a cool Convention Bag! Love the chevron pattern!!

This is a cute swap I received. It uses the set Open Sleigh, and would be a quick and easy Christmas card if you had to make alot of them!

Here is some cute punch art that I saw today. It's called "Card Candy".  It's made so just peel it off and use it on a card. Thought you might like to play a little bit!

Christmas Deer

This is my first Christmas card of the year. Even though it's July, it's not too early to be thinking about and making Christmas cards.  The season creeps up on you before you know it!  I really like this set because the reindeer's body is so close to the real thing that we saw when we were in Alaska! Did you know that reinderr and caribou are the same thing? And when you see them in the wild, you never know what might be hanging from their antlers (moss, molting skin, etc) so this image makes me smile!

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Christmas Deer, Teeny Tiny Wishes, any snowflake set
Cardstock - Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Ink - Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo, Crumb Cake
Accessories - Bitty Banners Framelits, Argyle Embossing Folder, Stampin' sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals

I did this post on my laptop. I got my picture resized, though it was a challenge :)  I'm telling you this because I'm going to try and post some things from convention.  Cross your fingers!

I got a new stamp set and punch today.  Papillon Potpourri and the Elegant Butterfly punch.  I used the Fancy Fan embossing folder for the first time too.  It's really cool!  This card is not a masterpiece. Ink - Midnight Muse, Basic Black, Marina Mist
Accessories - Elegant Butterfly punch, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Watercolor pencils, Stampin' sponge, Black Marker,, Stampin' Dimensionals

I sponged the center of the flower with Marina Mist ink and sponged the edges of the Whisper White CS too.

Triple Time Stamping

First, let me apologize for not posting for so long! Steve and I took the RV and boat and had a little fun at Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee. Unfortunately we had rain almost every day, but they were sure glad to get the rain. Wish we would have gotten all that rain in Ohio, but it wasn't to be. Since I've returned, I've been busy making swaps and getting ready for Convention. I have plenty of swaps made, so if I don't get anymore done tomorrow, I'm good to go!  I'm getting very excited for Convention! If I can figure out how to resize my photos on my laptop, I will make some posts while I'm in Salt Lake City.  If I can't, there won't be any posts from Wed. - Mon. again. I feel like such a slacker :)

I did make a card today. It's going around the blogs as Triple Time Stamping.  I learned from Frenchie and Dawn Olchefske. It's really easy and looks really cool. I attempted a little tutorial so you can try your own.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Everything Eleanor, Friendly Phrases
Cardstock - Midnight Muse, Whisper White
Ink - Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake

Here are a few directions. I think you should be able to figure it out.  There are tutorials and videos out there too.

Here are the dimensions for cutting. I know it's hard to read, but I think if you zoom in on it, it will be big enough to read.

Using a temporary adhesive, center your three pieces of white or vanilla cardstock.

Stamp your images with the three pieces together. Notice how there are some spaces where the cards are stacked. That is OK, there will be a mat around each piece.

This is what your three pieces will look like after they are stamped and separated.

Layer all three pieces, with the largest being layered on your cardfront. (I'm not showing that step here.)

And here's your finished card.  It works with lots of stamp sets. Give it a try!!

Happy 4th of July! It's 10:00 PM and everyone's enjoying the fireworks but I'm ready to call it a day! Boy is it ever hot! We had a family picnic at my house today and I'm exhausted, but I wanted to share this card with you. I'm pretty sure it will be  my swap when I go to convention July 18. I love the new Blooming with Kindness stamp and I used the new Delicate Designs Embossing Folder for the first time. It sure adds a beautiful edge to your cards.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Blooming with Kindness
Cardstock - Primrose Petals, Whisper White
Ink - Primrose Petals
Accessories - Delicate Designs Embossing Folder, 3/8" Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Primrose Petals is a 2012-2014 In Color and it is the new type of pad. I love the way the new pads stamp. You get great coverage and the color looks so rich.  You just have to learn to use a soft touch :)
