Blossom Builders

I really liked the Happy Birthday card on page 18 of the Occasions Mini catalog and tried to make it with my punches, but it looked terrible. I decided to try the Blossom Builders kit to make it and I was very pleased! And the pink rhinestones are so pretty!
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Happiest BirthdayWishes (Hostess)
Cardstock - Baja Breeze, Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit (Occasions mini)
Ink - Basic Gray

This card was so simple to make. The die cut flowers are on textured cardstock and so easy to mix, match, and layer.  I didn't add the linen thread to the bouquet. I tried, but I didn't like my attempt.  I also changed the greeting, as I didn't have the one in the mini. But that's what is so great about Stampin' Up!  Substitutions!!!

Mixed Bunch #2

Today's card is a CASE from Sharon Field. I loved her use of Netting and EnFrancais. I wanted to use Pear Pizzazz so I got out my Color Coach to see what it suggested.  It suggested Rich Razzleberry, so I tried it.  I think I like it!
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Mixed Bunch, Field Flowers, Netting, En Francais
Cardstock - Pear Pizzaz, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Ink - Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories - Blossom punch, Pear Pizzazz 1/2"stitched poly ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, stampin' dimensionals

Check out your color coach for some new color ideas.  Don't have one? Ask me about getting one!

I'm waiting patiently for the Daytona 500 to start.  There has been a 3 1/2 hour rain delay so far - but I'm still hopeful they will race today.  In the meantime, back to my stamping room!!

Mixed Bunch with Everyday Enchantment

I keep finding ways to use the designer series paper Everyday Enchantment.  It's so beautiful, I wish I could just buy it! But you can only get it FREE during Sale-a-Bration. If you haven't earned it yet, consider getting together a $50 order of stamping supplies you need and get the Everyday Enchantment DSP free. The offer is good until March 31.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Mixed Bunch, Sincere Salutations
Cardstock - Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Lucky Limeade
Ink - Calypso Coral
Accessories - Blossom punch, Blossoms Petals Builder punch (for the leaves), Scallop Oval and Extra Large Oval punches, Free brads from the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad pack (also a SAB item), Vanilla ribbon (from the Holiday mini catalog), stampin' dimensionals

Any of the ruffled ribbon from the 2011-2013 In Colors would work great too!  Try mixing some of the designer papers you already have to create a card. You'll be glad you did!

I've been cruising!!

I haven't posted any cards for a while because I've been cruising in the Southern Caribbean!  The seas were smooth and the weather warm and wonderful! But I'm home and the weather here isn't bad for Feb., but I'm in the mood for flowers and springy stuff so I dusted off my Awash with Flowers set.
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Awash with Flowers
Cardstock - Peach Parfait, Very Vanilla
Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray, Peach Parfait
Accessories - Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Stampin' sponge, Stampin' dimensionals, Victoria 5/8" crochet trim

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Awash with Flowers, Thank You Kindly
Cardstock - Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink - Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Basic Gray, Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette
Accessories - Asst. clips, Pink Pirouette 3/8" taffeta ribbon

This is a 4 x 4 card. It still fits nicely in an A1 envelope. Awash with Flowers is a 2 step stamp set and is not really made to line up perfectly. That bothers some people (like me) but when you get your card finished and look at the "whole picture", I think you'll be pleased with the effect.

Masculine Get Well card

I needed a get well card for my husband's uncle yesterday, but I didn't have anything masculine on hand. So I went to work and made him one.
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Baroque Motifs, Delightful Dozen
Cardstock - Early Espresso, Whisper White
Ink - Early Espresso
Accessories - Adorning Accents Edgelits and embossing folders, Oval and Scallop punches, 3/8" Early Espresso taffeta ribbon

Some people don't think a masculine card should have ribbon on it, but I disagree. I think this Early Espresso ribbon is very masculine.

Thoughts of You w/ Everday Enchantment

There are a lot of cards out there with the patchwork quilt design using Everday Enchantment DSP and the postage stamp punch.  I wanted to try one, as I love that designer paper!! I think it's my favorite designer paper ever, but you can't buy it. You can earn it free during Sale-a-Bration by purchasing $50 worth of product from now until March 31.
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Take It to Heart, Loving Thoughts
Cardstock - Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Pool Party, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Ink - Early Espresso
Accessories - Postage stamp punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Library clips, Basic Rhinestones, Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad pack (SAB), Stampin' Dimensionals

I stamped the sentiment from Loving Thoughts inside the banner from Take It to Heart. Then I cut out the banner with my paper snips, leaving a small white edge around the stamped image.  That helps hide any imperfections in your cutting, making it look more even.

Celebrate - It's Super Bowl Sunday

If you're a football fan, I hope your team wins.  I know if I don't have a particular favorite in the Super Bowl, I pick who to root for based on how cute the the coach or quarterback is, or I will root for the team who doesn't have cheerleaders (like the Cleveland Browns don't!) Hey, I like to watch the game and you have to have someone to root for :) !!  But if your team wins, here's a card to Celebrate.  It was on display at Leadership and I copied it to share with you.
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Outlined Occasions (SAB)
Cardstock - Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Marina Mist, Wid Wasabi, and Daffodil Delight

Accessories -  Daffodil Delight 5/8" satin ribbon, Stampin' Dimesnionals

Language of Friendship

Those of you who know me very well, know that I don't like birds.  Actually, I'm afraid of birds!  So I never really like stamp sets that have birds in them, especially BIG birds.  So I was quite surprised when I kept going back to the card in the Sale-a-Bration catalog made with the Language of Friendship stamp set.  I've owned the Bird Builder punch for a long time, but don't use it very often. So for one of the free sets I got to choose during Sale-a-Bration, I chose the Language of Friendship set.  I've always liked the verse that comes with the set and I wanted to make that card from the mini.  And that cute little songbird doesn't look too scary!
Supplies:
Stamp sets - Language of Friendship (is in the reg. catalog but is also free during SAB)
Cardstock - Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla, So Saffron, First Edition DSP, Well Worn DSP
Ink - Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, So Saffron
Accessories - Bird Builder punch, Large Scallop Circle punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (SAB), Basic Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals

The great thing about Stampin' Up!'s catalog is all the ideas.  And it's great when you can just take one of their ideas and make your own card.  Why not go through the catalog again and see what you'd like to make?! Maybe you'll even get out of your comfort zone and stamp a bird or something!!
