Music Notes

Well, I didn't stay with those spring colors very long, did I?! I saw a card similar to this made by Carolyn King from Australia on the Stampin' Up! website, but her's had a background with rulers on it.  I recently purchased the Music Notes Wheel and have been wanting to make something with it, so I thought I'd try this design.  I had my son (a drummer) in mind when I bought the wheel and made the card.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - That's the Ticket, Music Notes Wheel
Card stock - Basic Black, Early Espresso Core-dinations, Very Vanilla, First Editions Specialty DSP
Ink - Early Espresso, Basic Black
Accessories - Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Sanding Block, Wheel Handle, Blossom punch, Daisies #2 die (retired), Ticket Duo Builder punch, Neutrals buttons, Linen Thread, Stampin' sponge, glue dots

Secret Garden Sympathy

Here's another card from my Mystery Hostess workshop. It uses the Secret Garden Bundle and a new individual stamp called Basic Label that is made to coordinate with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  It uses Sahara Sand and Whisper White card stock and it really makes a striking card!

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Secret Garden, Petite Pairs, Basic Label (132669 -  $6.95)
Card stock - Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Regal Rose, Fan Fair DSP
Ink - Sahara Sand, Whisper White Craft (for heat embossing)
Accessories - Secret Garden Framelits, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, White embossing powder, heat tool

I used some Raspberry Ripple ink with a sponge dauber and shaded in the middle of the flowers a little.

Easter Baskets

Aren't these cute little Easter Baskets? This is my Friday nursing home project this week. Linda Heller taught me how to make these.  The basket is made with the Fancy Favor Bigz XL die and the Big Shot.  The handle is a piece of ribbon and attached with brads. I used some old striped Bashful Blue ribbon that worked perfectly.  The egg is made with the Ovals Collection Framelits.  I used the 3rd smallest oval. I cut two ovals, one in Daffodil Delight and one in the polka dotted Certainly Celery from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.  I cut out the center of the polka dotted egg and just glued it to the Daffodil egg. Perfect fit.  The rick rack is cut from the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die. Just glue it on.

I make the bunny with the 1 3/8" circle punch,  and the Blossom Petals Builder punch. The two leaves make the perfect size ears.  The small and large oval punches work too, I just like this size better. I used the Owl Builder punch to punch out the eyes.  Making him peek out saves having to make a body!

Just put him all together and use dimensionals to put him on your basket.  I filled my basket with some Easter grass and chocolate eggs.  Make one today and make someone happy, even if it's just yourself!!

Bookshelf Card

I copied today's card from Debra Corson. She posted her card on Stampin' Up's Website and I thought it was a really cute idea. Of course, being a teacher, I love books!! You can actually make it with a lot of scraps!

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Loving Thoughts, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card stock - Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Fine Print DSP, and ANY pieces of designer paper you might have that would resemble the cover of a book.
Ink - Basic Black or Staz On Black
Accessories - Word Window and Modern Label punches, Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Simply Scored

If you think they look like books, give it a try! It's fun creating this card!! Any word stamps that you have will work. Be creative!

Vintage Stippled Blossoms

I had my Mystery Hostess Open House over the weekend and I'd like to give a big "WOO-HOO" to Karen J. She was chosen as the mystery hostess and she got to pick $25 worth of free product!! This is one of the cards we made. It's a CASE from Julie Gearinger. It has to be one of the most beautiful cards I've ever made.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Stippled Blossoms, Papillion Potpourri, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card stock - Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Ink - Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Accessories - Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Elegant Butterfly punch, Small and Large Oval punches, Basic Pearls, Stampin' Sponge, Very Vanilla Seam Binding

The flowers are stamped in Crumb Cake. Some I lightened by stamping off. Lots of sponging gives it the soft effect.  Even more beautiful in person!

Punch Art Easter Bunny

I was preparing for my Friday session at the nursing home and I decided on this punch art bunny so they could make an Easter card.  There are lots of versions of this bunny out there on the web so I'm not sure to whom the credit should go, but I certainly didn't think of it.  It's just cute, that's all you can say about it!

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Delightful Dozen, Itty Bitty Bits
Card stock - Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery
Ink - Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue
Accessories - 1 3/4" circle punch, Small Oval punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Scallop Oval punch, Extra Large Oval punch, Flower Trio punch, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Wood grain Textured Impressions embossing folder, Stampin' Sponge

I sponged around the edges of the bunny with Pink Pirouette so that it would stand out a little.
